Sometimes you just can't move fast enough

The other day, Rocket drank a whole bunch of water. He played a while, went potty. Came inside and started jumping up to get on my lap. He took a nap there. "Awww". Well, "Awww" until he woke up. He stood up and as I was trying to get out of the recliner and get him outside, all that water just came out. Yup- on my lap. The look on his poor face. He knew he shouldn't be doing this. But he couldn't help it. It had to come out. And he's a baby, he couldn't help it. Got him outside as quickly as I could. Then changed my clothes. And washed a blanket. :yuck:

I'm sure he was mortified!
I think he probably was. It was quite the mixture of guilt and relief mingled on his little face. Other than marking me though, the little man really is close to perfection. He is not quite as rowdy as his dad. The fur on the top of his head sort of swoops over. The vet tech thought that was adorable. My husband likes to ruffle the dogs, but when he does it to Rocket, Rocket wiggles away and runs straight to momma. If he isn't on my feet, he's on the blanket by my feet (like his grandpa ALWAYS was). There are still times when I feel like the most selfish person in the world because he could be making someone else so happy and instead, I'm blessed with multiple beautiful shelties now. And then it vanishes at the thought of letting him go and I get a pit in my tummy and feel like getting sick.
