Sophie's Mom Saying Hello!

Hi Welcome to the forum.

Pick a color sheltie and I likely have it. I own 5 dogs, 4 live with me and 1 with his co owner.

Justice is 9yr sable, Ember 6 yr Bi blue, Diva 3 yr Tri, Birch 4 month Blue merle and Jamie 1.5 yr Bi black(he doesn't live with me).

I am a veterinarian by trade and show my dogs in conformation, obedience and agility. Just getting started in herding.

I look forward to hearing more about your little girl. Please post pictures if you can. You can see my dogs in my albums.

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome!!! I haven't yet posted pics (usually work off my iPad, need to get onto the laptop to post up :)

Sharon ~ I live in Stamford. Where are you in CT?

lovemyshelties ~ Thanks for the tip on the American Shetland Sheepdog Assoc website, will definitely take a look!

She certainly has surprised me at how quickly she has learned some things, and some things are still a challenge. I try to keep her engaged and she has lots of different kinds of toys for variety (of course, I'm her favorite chew-toy :). I've hesitated enrolling in any classes with other dogs, since we're currently trying to get rid of a stubborn case of Giardia, and I worry about her being around other dogs.

I'll probably be posting in the Behavior section soon, as it seems that lil Sophie is prone to some kind of anxiety attack (short-lived, thankfully) when one of us goes to leave.... into another room! Strangely, when I put her in her cage and actually leave the house, she seems ok! :confused2:

Thanks again to everyone!!! Pics soon!! :biggrin2:

Thanks everyone for your kind words about Sophie..

I haven't yet had the time to spend as much time on the forum as I'd like to look at everyone's pics and pick up some good pointers, but I'm anxious to do so soon.
