Spirit Joy

Well, it poured all day so Spirit did not get to practice the teeter at all today. We're down to 1 private lesson left before the trial. It's not looking very good for our Standard runs :-(

As long as you both have fun that day, nothing else really matters. Even if you guys don't Q your first time, you can still have a great day.

Yes, really, in the grand scheme of things, I'm so lucky to have a healthy dog who loves to play the game. We'll just get out there and do everything else and have a blast. The weather forecast is for cool/cold weather, which is kind of a problem. Spirit gets VERY frisky in cool weather, and she's already going to be super excited. This should be very entertaining.

Echo gets a little nutty if it gets cold too. I think it's because it's so rare for us to have cold weather or rain. When it rains she gets really crazy jumping up in the air and biting the rain drops.

LOL, Spirit doesn't bite raindrops. She hates getting wet. She won't even go outside to go potty if it's raining out. I have to carry her out the door.

So, today was Spirit's first day at the agility trial! Her Jumpers run was GORGEOUS (with the exception of the moment I tried to rear on the flat, but Spirit landed closer to the jump than I had anticipated, so I wasn't really behind her and we collided). But the judge didn't call anything, and we q'd with a score of 100 and first place.

Standard is another story. Spirit bailed off the teeter and then blew her a-frame contact. So I took her out. Which pissed her off, so she started yelling at me and refused to be captured. Luckily, the judge was nice about it and actually laughed at her antics. I was not amused, however. So now I have to decide what to do tomorrow. We are definitely not doing the teeter and I don't know if we're going to do Standard at all. I don't like this business of blowing contacts (which she NEVER does in class - it was just at the trial). But the only way I can think of to fix the problem, since it only happens in a trial setting, is to make her stop every time she does it. Sooner or later she'll get the point. I hope.

But overall, we had a fabulous time, Spirit is an amazing little puppy, and I can't wait for tomorrow!!!!!

Congrats-sounds like a great first trial:yes:
any video:fl

Thank you! We do have video but it's on a regular video camera, so I have to go through a whole process to transfer them to the computer. I'll do it when the trial is over.
