We always do FAST when it's offered. She's really good at it, and I love it too.
I decided I'm going to skip the September trial. There's a trial the third week of October that's local, so we're going to wait for that one. That will give Spirit more time to bounce back, and since it's local we'll be coming home every night. Plus it's outdoors, and Spirit seems to prefer the outdoor venues. I think that's the perfect scenario for her comeback.
Aw, no :-( I mean, great job on the title!!!!!!! But I have to agree with the zero tolerance for flyoffs. It truly is a safety issue and if she keeps doing that, at some point she will get hurt. I pulled Spirit from many a run for blown contacts (ok, technically she hit the contact zone, but she is trained to do a stopped contact, and she didn't even pause). We might be sitting out a trial too if Echo doesn't adjust her attitude tomorrow. We got our Open JWW title, but she's back to not holding her contacts again. She flew off of the teeter at full height today. Airborne. Scared the heck out of me. 2 obstacles after she ran down the A-Frame without stopping. she hit the contact, but she didn't stop. I picked her up and did the walk of shame. 1st time I've had to do that at a trial. Zero tolerance for flying off of the A-Frame. Too dangerous.
Same here. She hits the A-Frame contact and runs off the end and looks up at me, like, "Where do you wanna go now?" Arrrggghh! Remember how hard we worked to get those stopped contacts? I held off trialling her for 3 extra months until they were solid. She was fine today. No problems with the teeter and she held her 2o2o. I use a 4 on for the teeter and she was fine. I didn't move her up for today, so we went late to the show and just did her standard run. I wasn't sure we still had a teeter after her fly off yesterday. We got her Open Standard Title, so we're onto scary Excellent next weekend. It would be so cool if we could compete together some day. I feel like we've gone through this whole crazy journey together with all of the ups and downs.Aw, no :-( I mean, great job on the title!!!!!!! Yay! Great to hear! I do remember all you went through trying to get her to be consistent on her contacts. Maybe it was just nerves - or maybe she took the Walk of Shame to heart - which is a good thingSame here. There's a lot of disagreement about the "Walk of Shame" My trainer was appalled. I am a firm believer.Yay! Great to hear! Wouldn't it be so amazing if we could compete together? Someday we will all qualify for Nationals and get to do that![]()
I'm a firm believer as well. I've seen it work way too many times to not believe in it.There's a lot of disagreement about the "Walk of Shame" My trainer was appalled. I am a firm believer.
