Spitfire's Eve

SIX inches! Good Lord. Hope there's no flooding nearby. Poor Spitfire in the long grass....
Actually major flooding though it is going down now. Multiple roads closed all around me. A vet had to rescue some horses in a spot I have never seen flood in 30 years. One road had a section of black top washed away, I think where the river goes under it. Basically it was Sunday and nasty out, stay home.

Predicting 1-2 more today which is a no big deal for us. I think with no rain over night enough run off occurred for today to be OK. Of course anyone near a river or flood plain might still have a bad day. And of course no mowing so a short legged someone..... shhhhh he is mad enough at me now and I need to trim his nails today.

We had the worst storm in over a decade here yesterday…baseball sized hail (fortunately that missed my immediate area), some areas got up to 8” of rain in a couple hours with lots of flooding…tornadoes near the airport (airport was shut down for hours and hundreds of flights diverted) and over 50 tornado warnings!
Then later last night we had a Bow Echo move through with winds up to 130 kph! Missed us fortunately (still had strong wind gusts) but many had damage and many trees down. I hope to never see another one of these…and I love a good thunderstorm!
I have a sun shade sail and it’s still up…these things are great that they can withstand those winds!
