Starting a new class

hope that they sell the books there- good luck finding the jumping book:yes:
I will say that having our own weaves and being able to work 5 min/day really helped us....
we made our own jumps...

I just called Clean Run to see if they were ever going to have any in stock.. CSR said yes.. once they're done rewriting it in a few months. Oops, didn't know they were rewriting it. I'll just see if I can get away with not getting the books (or at least that one). I don't want to buy the kindle version if a newer version is coming out!

I have seen 12´ board in apartment but if you are not doing running contacts you do not need it. You do not even need a travel plank, any box- drawer will do. I can not tell how much I can learn in a living room with just couple of traffic cones, crate and 1 jump.:smile2: Having 12 stick in ground poles is great too. And lots of tunnels if one can, love love tunnels. But that is in perfect world:yes:
Can see where your trainer wants her peeps to be serious and do your homework...

It's been a couple days, but I'll give an update.

We started our new class on Monday. There are two instructors, which is nice because then everyone gets some good one-on-one time. Both instructors spend a lot of time trying to figure out where we were. They prefer to train 2x2s for weaves, where we have been learning using channel weaves. So we're going to have to start over a little. Not a big deal. I also let them know that Missy has very poor rear-end awareness. I didn't really notice it until we got a practice board for contacts. The main instructor was very very helpful and showed us some exercises we could do at home and suggested a book. She even sent me an email that night with all the stuff we had discussed and some articles and such. Very impressive!

The thing that surprised me, but wasn't totally unexpected was they gave us homework! Like, an actual sheet of paper with a list of things to work on during the week. I looked at it when I got home and felt a little overwhelmed, but then again I'm a little happy because I'm so ADD, having a piece of paper telling me exactly what to do is very helpful. We haven't gotten to do too much :hide. It's been a very busy week and this time of year is bad for me arthritis wise. It seems that every year when it starts getting warmer, my RA flares up really bad. It's difficult to work during the day and not want to go home and crawl into bed! I'm hoping today and tomorrow we can do a little more. Sunday we will be at my parents house all day (Mother's day).

Also, when I first contacted this new instructor, I told her who we were taking classes from originally. They met up at a trial a few weeks ago and Judy (new instructor) asked Rosanne (old instructor) about us because she was worried she put us in the wrong class. Rosanne told her what we had been doing and apparently really bragged on Missy because Judy said she had heard Missy was an awesome dog. Hopefully we didn't disappoint, but it was the first class lol. Judy did seem to really like Missy, and she's had Shelties in the past so she likes them :wink2:.

sounds cool that you had a good first class.
stuff written down is what I need since I forget most of what we did by the time that I get home from class:rolleyes2:
hope that you can get some practice in before the next class....
