Still Not Better

Thank you Melissa for popping this thread back up.

Randi, how is Boopka and your parents dogs feeling? Is everyone back up and feeling great?

Thanks for asking Melissa and Jan :)

My parents dogs have been fine. They were only symptomatic for a few days to a week. This past Saturday, was actually Cali's last chemo treatment. She has done very well. Only one of the 8 treatments made her sick. She goes back next week for a check up with the vet. If he sees no signs of cancer, she is done with chemo treatments. She has to go back ever 3 months the first year and every 6 months the second year for a check up. If the lump doesn't return within 2 years, then it's safe to say she is cancer free. So, keep your fingers crossed.

Bailey has been much better as well. She has actually been very hyper the past few days, so she's definitely feeling fine! Her stool has been normal since Thursday (8/22). Her stool last night was a little soft, but it was normal this morning. I've been slowly transitioning her to california natural kibble, so it might've just been too much for her or I overfed her.

I decided I'm not going to deworm her or anything. I'm just going to leave her alone unless she has another one of these flair ups. Then I'll make sure the vet gives her a dewormer or medicine for coccidia. I don't want to mess with her now if she is doing well.

So glad to hear that Bailey and your parent's dogs are doing better. I'll keep my fingers crossed that Bailey's diarrhea is cured and that Callie's cancer is gone.

So happy to hear that Bailey is doing better and that is just wonderful news about Cali.
A friend of mine got a new sheltie puppy that was from a good breeder that had a bout with giardia and then it got 2 of her other shelties sick took them a while to get well again.

This is great news!! I'm so happy you and Bailey have made it through this. Seems like things are turning around. I'm sure you parents must be relieved things are looking good for them also. I know chemo is tough on a dog and it must've been tough on them also to see their furbaby not feeling well.

I am very relieved to hear that both Cali and Bailey are doing well. Your family can rest easy for now....and you definitely deserve some non stress time.

Please let us know the updates on Cali's condition. You are going to Redbank, right? They are fantastic if you are. They did Vinca's detox and rehabilitation before we adopted her from the rescue.

Thanks for your support everyone! It means a lot.

Yup Cali went to redbank. Their facility is so nice. Nicer than my doctor's office! She is such a trooper for a little chihuahua. She had 8 treatments of chemo. She only had one day where she had diarrhea and a fever. Other than that one day, you wouldn't even know there was anything wrong with her.
