Stop eating your bed!

Dusty, who is 5 years old, seems to be insistent on eating his bed! I really need him to stop. Any tips on how to stop this behavior?

I usually just keep any bedding out of his crate since he shreds it, but his crate tray broke so now all he has is the wire floor to lay on. I tried to make it more comfortable by adding a dog bed or old sheets/blankets, and he thanks me by shredding the blankets or de-stuffing the pillows. I am about to say fine then sleep on the hard floor!

He is only crated at night, and rarely during the day. I have tried giving him other stuff to chew on, but he wont touch that stuff just his bed. I was thinking of spraying bitter apple on his bed, but then I am afraid he wont want to sleep on it. He never chews on anything else, he is even careful with his stuffed toys, so why he does it to the bed??? :confused2:

I had the crate tray break in one of our wire crates- I looked up the company that made it and ordered a replacement tray. my guys don't have beds in their wire crates- mostly because of chewing during the day when I'm not home......

Sca will flip a bed over hump it then destroy it, just a matter of time. The one in his flyball crate is never bothered but no beds in the house :rolleyes2:

soooo what your saying is its hopeless  looks like I need a new crate tray.
definitely a hopeless battle :o Ruutu scratches at his crate tray and puts holes in it.. Luckily, he leaves the bedding alone minus balling it up and folding it in half.
