Suddenly pooping,not sure who

Michele I am sorry that you are having these problems.......So has anything else changed other than sleeping arrangement? Any changes in food? Any changes in their amount/timing of going outside?

Shelties can decide to be sensitive about the most unusual things. Newton has decided that since I have been working 12+ hour days that it means that he can pee in the foyer; the little scamp. When we re-arrange furniture Emma barks nonstop at the moved pieces, trying to herd them back where they belong.

I agree with the earlier recommendations....back to crates 101 until they are back on track with pee and poop outside where it belongs.
 
My guys do well with anything above freezing. Blanket in the kennels and one over the top and they love it. 40-50 degrees is their favorite. I keep my house cool in the winter about 65. So they are used to cool temps. They die in the summer and it is nothing like your heat.

But I would go back to crate training 101.

Well with other recent happinings,with Trapp & the loss of hair...

I took everyones advice,and decided to seperate the 3 shelties.Last night Jasper was crated,Trapp slept in our room.

Mia's crate was put in spare room,Earnhardt slept wherever...

I woke up at 4:40 to a horriffic mess in Jasper's crate. He has cannon butt unbelievable.So my assumption of Trapp was not correct,for the recent poop episodes.

I have for the last few days,had increased Jasper's food intake by 1/4 cup,I had been splitting it between the two meals.I do believe it is the increase of food that has caused the sudden episodes.

As of this morning,I have boiled some chicken,cooked some rice.Will keep him on a bland diet. I did give a pepto pill to him also.I do have meds here for diahreea. I will moniter him all day by letting him go potty by himself,with no other dogs to confuse matters.

His temp is fine,and he acts normal.However he will need a bath once he gets fed,and daylight comes.

Have you changed their food recently? For some reason, when I switched Bailey to TOTW, she started pooping in the middle of the night. I solved this by changing her food portions. She still gets the same amount of food, but now gets most of it for breakfast and only a little bit of food for dinner. Basically I split 1/2 a cup a day to 3/4's of it in the morning and 1/4 at night.

Even though her poops were normal, I gave her a tablespoon of pumpkin for a week in case there was a digestive issue. This really seemed to help. I don't know why, but it did.

When I take her out for "last call", I now make sure she poops before bed.

Lastly, I started praising her for making outside again, a few times with treats and now a verbal praise and scratch on the head.

I hope you can figure out who the culprit is and a resolution.

no changes in food,just a slight increase...we found out it is Jasper with the pooping issue.

And the patial consumption of a bully stick.About 1-1/2" worth. Could be the culprit!

Sounds like you are on the way to fixing one issue. Hopefully this is the start of a trend toward a fantastic new year
 
Gosh I know that is a relief to have figured out the guilty party and why as well. We have to be Sherlock Holmes sometimes i am learning with mulitple dogs. I am watching and learning from you veterans.
 
Just an update:

Jasper has been resting comfortable in a crate in the kitchen.He has had a substancial amout of water/chicken broth.Will be offering some pumpkin later with his night meal.
He has no temp,and other than the loose poo's his attitude is the same..fiesty!

I do think in combination,stress, increased food intake,and the consumption of a bully stick yesterday (only about 1-1/2") worth,it has sent him into belly oblivion!

Been an interesting day to say the least~

Jasper is sure gettin lots of good lovin and care.

One time we gave bella a knuckle (?) and she had a few loose ones, so I bet your on to something with the combination of events and food increase and the bully stick. Bella will have at least one mushy poo if she overeats even one time.
 
I'm sorry Jasper isn't feeling well. :(

Sounds like you're doing all the right things for him. I hope he feels better soon!
