When the folks at No. Chesapeake Sheltie Rescue took in this poor, pathetic Sheltie last month and posted her picture I almost cried. She was bone thin, covered in fleas and had clearly had a litter of pups at some point. We dipped her, and hubby and I took her in to foster.
We named her Lucy, or Lucy Lou, bathed her, brushed what little fur she had, fed her delicious food and Omega-3 supplements, and showered her with hugs and kisses.
I'm happy to report that Lucy was adopted on August 18 and is now living with a wonderful couple in PA. She's continuing to gain some much needed weight, her fur is coming back in nicely and she loves belly rubs and hugs.
Here's a photo I took of her sporting her red, white and blue collar before she departed for her forever home.
