Tail doesn't wag and neverbarks

My Hamish suffered from what the vet called necrotizing pancreatitis. Hopefully your boy will be well soon. It took months for Hamish to feel better and get off all medications. Unfortunately, it was on prednisone, which is known to cause weight gain in animal and human. I went through pancreatitis myself and know how much pain the dogs are/were in. It takes a long time to recover from and you need a good low fat diet to do so.

max

Keep us updated on Max. Has he had a thyroid check? I refer you to Illinois sheltie rescue, click on the site, read, look at pictures to compare Max to and if you want you can call them. They know their shelties!

Best,
Kate

Max's pancreatitus

Hi everyone, max is on the mend, his second ultra sound was better, and so was his gall bladder. He is still on ursidol, pancewatitus from health food store, probiotics, liver and gall ladder pills from the holistic vet. I've got im back walking on the board walk and he runs a little after he goes to the bathroom! Tonite is the first night he's restless, but he also is s ratching a lot. Did I mention my dog who never goes out had fleas again, so we salted rugs, rinsed his bath with lavender and lemon and made a spray out of brewed lemons over night. It never ends with this little guy.
Queation under his neck on his skin ithought it was flea dirt, now there gone and i thought it was old blood or a rash. I apply all natural aloe vera to soothe it but now he backs away like it hurts. Any ideas

After his next blood work in ten days i will have another consultation with te holistic vet and determine an over all plan to include his allergies.

My vet hired an holistic vet but unfortunety i know more aout holistics then her. She wantwd me to give Max a flea dip in the middle of all his issues.it would have been great if she wasn't useless and cared!

Thyroid

Yes he did have his thyroid checked and it was a little low, but not much. Again beforei call the holistic i am going to get all his test results. I didn't want to ask now because we've had some issues there and i knew i wasn't calling her yet. But i do believe in her, even though she is in california. The sheltie rescue uses her and comes highly recommended.

Max

Hi Lynnel

Thxs for the update. I hope you can alleviate all his problems soonest.

I understand what you are going through, especially with his scratching. Harper Lee is now flea free but still scratching as if she is not. I am at my wits end with her and I feel so helpless now. I have washed and vacuumed and washed again, her and bedding in the house, carpets etc. over and over now. She took a comfortis and the fleas died but she is still having issues.

Holding good thoughts,

Best,
Kate

He has only been on the throid me but already other then his feet, the smell is gone and they vet said we will see a big difference in him in a few weeks! I pray ne's right, my boy jas suffered enough. Only problem is max isn't so crazy anout his new fish diet for his pancreas! I even mixed tiliapia with the can food and string beans!
