Taking puppy outside

Hi. I am wondering if it is to take Alex and Xander outside for short trips in my arms, with me in my scooter? They are currently 6 weeks old. I mean maybe 3 times a day for less than 5 minutes, just to socialize them, not let anyone pet them, or them get around any animals, just them in the security of my arms.

I don't see any harm in that. I would just make sure that you have a harness and a leash on them when you are holding them. Just in case they get scared and got out of your arms you have something to hold onto.

Definitely don't let them touch the ground though, until they get their first set of shots.

I do this with all my pups. They see the world from my hands or a little carrier way before they see it from the ground.

I gotta say that I loved toting the Cranpup around in his little carrier when he was a lil guy:yes:
One trip to Petsmart (we were on our way to the sheltie torture of training for Callie and ear gluing for the lil man), Callie was on leash walking next to the cart and Cran was in the cart in his carrier. The top was open a little so he could stick his head out and check out the scenery. So one of the employees comes over to say how pretty and well behaved Callie is. and Cran notices that he's being ignored and makes some sound. the guy is like- whoa, I didn't even see him in there. I said he was camouflaged with all the treats we were buying.
I guess his head might fit in his carrier now- but nothing else though:no:

awww, that is adorable. I think I will invest in a soft sided carrier for Alex maybe tomorrow. They are set to get their first set of shots on Thursday. They will be 7 weeks old then. Xander goes to his new home the next Tuesday. Then, Alex will get another set of shots 3 weeks later, and start her puppy training class.

Mine go in the yard by then, and to my parents house and yard, and to Gramma Debbie's kitchen. At 7 weeks they go to the agility farm where I practice to learn follow the leader and tunnels.

Practicing good risk management is a good thing.
