Talk About Eating

When Splash was younger she would have to sniff every single piece of food and then would eat the "best" piece. Then she would have to sniff each one again to find the second best piece, etc. It would take forever for her to eat! Luckily she grew out of it and now she just inhales her food.
 
Lil' Lady isn't the only, I guess she is a little normal. I knew what I was getting when I brought her home. She came in the house and took it over. That little face is a gotcha all day long.

How could I not mention she does her business outside while she walks. I cut a poop shoot and still have to wipe her butt. The Royal Highness.

These shelties are a hoot. I love reading all about them.
 
Enzo will shove his nose into his food and push it around the bowl. Sometimes he even pushes it out of the bowl onto the floor! Silly boy.
 
My mom feeds her sheltie Ariel in the kitchen. Ariel will stuff her mouth full of food, then run into the living room to eat it. I think it's a herding thing. She always has to have her eyes on everyone.

I feed Jasmine in my room so she doesn't steal from Belle. Kinda the same thing with her, except that if I leave the room, she picks up her bowl and follows me with it in her mouth.

Silly, unique little girls. Shelties are awesome!
 
Lacey has to wait until Milo is done before she will eat. Silly puppy. She runs into the laundry room to see if she can get his leftovers too! She will only eat in there, but she will take a few bites in the morning and then wait until Milo goes out for his morning walk before she will finish her breakfast. She does the same thing in the evening as well.
 
My new puppy was grabbing a morsel and walking away to eat it. After she ate half her food she would sit down and not eat anymore. I started hand feeding her or using her meal as treats for doing good things.

We'll I got to thinking about why she was doing it. Come to find out she didn't like the metal food dish. I borrowed a plastic food dish from a friend and she ate her entire meal rather quickly. It must have been either the reflection off the bowl or the sound the food makes in the metal bowl. Very odd, but I'm glad I figured it out rather quickly.

My 1st and 2nd, when we had family gatherings, or people over...they would gather up a mouthful...find an open place under the dining table and eat their meal with the rest of the family or guests...It was like they want to be included in the pack. Kaleigh & Savannah have the idea that I am gonna ration them, and so they stand guard over their food. They have NEVER missed a meal, gone w/o or been rationed, so I don't get this behaviour at all. Food is given freely and they get plenty, but these girls are goofy...
