Teeter Success!!

Tremendous improvement! Great job.

I wouldn't worry too much about the weaves...they will come! Plus, that's a tough weave entry for a dog just learning to weave--and especially for one that wants to drive ahead all the time.

Seesaw Success

Riley is looking great and I love the way all the other people are saying nice job!!!You guys look great. We will be competing against each other. He is getting his brains and it is comming together for you both very nicely!!!

Looks like Riley is having fun! I loved his distance and crosses.
Leo and I are learning weaves too now. I think if Riley has this high rate of failure to find/ complete weaves you need to go back and break it down to small parts, I like 2x2 for this purpose as it builds great value for "finding" correct entry and allows to build on it. I also have been doing ST suggestion for building independent weaves on channels, not closing them until you get the independence and various entries you want. It seems to be working really well. Look under 0.59 for about 40 sec

Jen Pinder has "Sizzling seesaw" 3 disk DVD with lots of great suggestions, if one of your friends has it I found it was helpful for many details.

nice work
looks like a lot of fun was had by all!
I laughed when you asked was that my fault, haha, that is so me!

are you teaching 2 x 2 method for the weaves? If so, I would maybe try to not reward from your hand but use a bait pouch instead if you're looking for feedback... just so you can reward slightly ahead of weave or in it, without you there because placement of reward for 2x2 is important for independent weaving.

Such a fine balance between focus, keeping dog with you and independence, lolll
for a while Toffee just used to design his own courses, lol

It's ALWAYS my fault :wink2: Riley will make up his own course if I move too slow, or get him frustrated at all. He's an impatient one! At home we toss a toy or cookie to keep him driving ahead during the weaves. At class right now is a different story..... We had to put out the target because the weaves are currently not exciting enough when the teeter is in the ring!! I think that means that I did something right with the teeter though!

And boy does Riley LOVE to drive ahead of me ALL the time. I am the only one in class who get lots of practice doing rear crosses since Riley is the only dog in class who likes to work away from their handler :biggrin2: Of course that meant wrangling him was extra difficult!

Riley naturally wanted to get the correct entrance (most of the time) over that jump. Maybe I did something right with entry training? We've been really working the entry for our weaves!

Thanks!! The goal is to have a full size teeter and minimum of a full 6 pole weave by this summer. Fingers crossed!! Oh-Brains are returning ever so slowly :rolleyes2:
