Ten "People" Foods for Dogs

The only one I'd consider a benefit for a carnivore would be eggs and salmon (uncooked, though) I give my dogs fresh farm eggs usually once a week. Be careful, though, as if they aren't used to it, it can cause diarrhea. Salmon needs to be frozen for a period of time if it comes from the Pacific NW. Farmed salmon is safe to feed without freezing. As far as everything else, I'd say no, they don't have much nutritional value as dogs and cats do not normally produce enzymes in their saliva to actually break-down the carbohydrates and starches found in the other items listed. Also, they don’t have a long intestinal tract like humans and it doesn’t have the ability to digest vegetable matter. I don't know as much about yogurt to comment on that.

I agree with almost all of them, although I don't have any experience with oatmeal. I do feed cooked eggs, yogurt, salmon, pumpkin, sweet potato, green beans and I know flaxseed is beneficial.

It's an interesting article. I would add cottage cheese to the list, which is very good for dogs. Many of these foods are recommended to supplement feeding for pregnant bitches.
