The Face behind the Name....!

I love the Great Pyr. Gorgeous, a gentle giant. My husband had wanted a Saint Bernard but I didn't want all that drooling .:rolleyes2: They are another gentle giant.

I do have to wash walls due to the drool slinging when Mylo and Darcy play. :eek2: Usually Darcy is like a wet used up cotton ball of hair when there done playing.

I sneaked a peek at your wedding album -- looks like a splendid wedding -- and I ADORE your dress!!!

XD! Thank you. I wanted something really different for my wedding...a lot of people have sleeveless or strappy gowns and I really didn't want that on my wedding, so I had a seamstress make something for me. (It was pretty reasonable, too...only $300...) I thought people would think my gown was silly, but it was quite the hit, lol!

LOL, I love big dogs like Pyrs, Newfies and St Bernards too...but likewise, the drool is a serious deterrent! After my parents having an English Springer Spaniel and two Gordon Setters, I've had enough drool to last a lifetime.

Whenever I think if Great Pyrenees, I think of Tadakichi-san from Azumanga Daioh... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxryj5KZun8

This was a great idea Barb. I'm a little late in replying, but below I've posted some pictures of my boyfriend and Sophie and of my boyfriend and I on our trip to Prague.

I love everyone's pictures and everyone is so pretty!!

Married over 30 years so far and dog owners every single year. Next, my granddaughter, Erika...

Erika's mother, Jessica, lives with us, but she's dodging the camera. I'll catch her one day. My youngest daughter, Nikki, lives here in town. No recent pictures, but an interesting story to read, if you're feeling bored...

Very nice photos of your family.

I read a bit of your blog and my heart goes out to you and your family, You've certainly been through a lot in the past 5 years! Your poor daughter Nikki, she must be an incredibly strong person to first get through that horrible car accident and then to be car jacked!

All I can say is hang in there, things WILL get better!

Dave,

Nothing boring about the story! It's been a tough 5 years for you and your family, but I sense the strength and love that made it possible to get through it.

We all have our stories. Thank you so much for sharing yours!
Take care!:smile2:

P.S. Have you seen how many posts I've got? Yeesh! Who needs a life???:biggrin2:

I only wish I had found Sheltie Nations when I was laid off to keep me busy when I wasn't job hunting. Like you, I was a senior manager in high tech. It took me 1.5 years to find something worthwhile, and still, like you, at half my previous income!

Oh, God, 1.5 years.... I'll be rolling on the ground & gibbering if it takes that long. I was laid off in 2003 and it took me 9 months to land a half-way decent job, in an entirely different field. I've already been off nearly 5 months this time. I'm starting to think the guys standing at my freeway exit with cardboard signs saying "Will Work For Food" have the right idea :smile2:
