The great blowout.

I've mentioned my first experience with "blowing coat" before:

We were driving to New Jersey from DC -- a very long trip -- Layla's second August. She started blowing her coat in Baltimore. It was like being inside a snowglobe. :eek2: We had to keep opening the windows to let it blow out -- I'm talkin' hair in our eyes, our teeth. AUGH!!!!

There's nothing like a sheltie tumble weed rolling across your living room floor.

Breaking news! :eek2:

One of my mom's friends wants Smudge's fur to put in her garden. She heard that human hair keeps squirrels out, but she wants to try the sheltie fur.

:uhoh: How odd.

I have heard dog hair keeps deer out of a garden, but not squirrels. You would think they would just steal it for their nests? I wonder if it works, the squireels around my house like to tease the dogs so i dont think it would work for me.

Another lady had suggested human hair (where are you seriously going to find random human hair?!). You put the human hair in a jar, and slit holes in the top. The other lady claims it keeps them out.

However, she decided to try putting the dog fur in the container instead.

They HAVE a dog (an akbash who never gets taken to the vet, is chained up in their yard, and has a problem with her eyelid). So not sure why they want the sheltie fur.
