We have a new cat just got home. Maisie knows the cat is here but has not me it yet and just got her "furst" look-- I am thinking she is thinking - this is not good: She was quite fixated for about 6 minutes.

More than likely she will groom the cat if the cat lets her but this cat is so small I wonder if she will see it as a chipmunkI think she’ll learn quickly what’s not allowed

I've had two very long lived cats over the years starting with first Sheltie in 1987! They always got along great. Some of my dogs simply ignored the cat, others engaged. Our first girl Skye love to play with the cat. They chased each other around.

I grew up always having a cat... when single, I ended up with 3! We now have 2... Rusty Russell the orange cat/ ***hole and Gizmo, the Siberian Forest Cat who truly thinks he is a dog. Brodie loves to play with Rusty and our youngest son taught him to 'pet the kitty'. But both dogs are TERRIFIED of Gizmo. Giz desperately wants to play with them and love on them, but they don't get his 'play'. Both boys pretend to be tough, show teeth at each other bow and chase, but not a tough bone in their bods unless they see a stranger, then they play at being tough. But Gizmo, well his type of play is to run and tackle, and roll around, bite feet, bite necks, nothing terrible, but the boys are scared cuz they never lay a tooth on each other, they just pretend to. Here's hoping your two are besties in no time!
