The sheltie twirl

Pixie and Ivy aren't twirlers. But Barkley does laps around the room at feeding time, and then runs to the rug where his dish is going and twirls and barks until it lands in front of him. We get dizzy watching!

Indy's not a twirler, he'a a jumper (and a panter! Drives me nuts).
Bacca will grab hold of his tail and twirl until he loses the tail. He does this totally at random! Nothing in particular sets him off. It's just kinda like: "Hmmm, that's a neat looking tail. Wonder where it came from? If I grab hold of it, I wonder what will happen....?" Then he kinda shakes his head and moves off onto something else.

I haven't seen Angus twirl yet, but I'm not ruling out its development IF Figaro would EVER quit riding Angus's head all the time. I swear he's going to chew it off.
All of the others twirl. Emma does a "helicopter" spin with dangerous extensions of strong legs out to the sides WATCH OUT. Indy and Sasha do very neat tidy spins similar to ballerina turns...the body moves around and then the head SNAPS around. Figgy catches his own tail and spins while holding his tail in his mouth.

My pup will spin 5-6 circles when she hears a large truck go by or if anyone in the STATE decides to mow or weed wack. She also barks for 10-15 minutes non-stop! I try to catch her and settle her down: NOT!! I would love to end this because she seems to be very nervous when she is doing this!

Yep mine do the twirl, we call it the sheltie ballet. They spin when Rocky the squirrel is out there, or want to chase the birds to go outside.

Callie does the sheltie spin- I did capture it so she will also do it on command. At home, she'll spin pretty fast but other places- she spins slower. Actually, that's when I can tell that she's adjusted some- that she'll spin on command 
She does the the sheltie dance, where she shakes her whole body when she gets happy!Spencer doesn't spin or twirl. In fact, we were in a class once where the instructor was having the participants teach their dogs how to "spin" in one direction and "twirl" in the other direction. I flat out told him that I wasn't going to teach Spencer how to do that. His Sheltie barking makes up for any spin/twirl behavior that he doesn't do. Hmmm. If I thought I could have traded some of that barking for a bit of the spin/twirl routine, maybe I should have taught it to him.
