The things they play with

Our boys like the twisted rope and anything that squeaks. I only need to put an empty envelope in my desk trash can for Laddie to tear it to shreds. Of course the pieces have to be spread all over the place. I think Laddie's favorite toy is an empty cardboard box. He will chew it multiple times until it literally falls apart. Chip never bothers anything in a can or on a chair unless I show him where it is by pointing to it. Laddie is slowly getting the hang of that maneuver. Chip's legs are so short he can't jump up on much of anything. Another story with Laddie, he can almost jump as high as the top of the storm door.

I am currently missing one of my flip-flops. I'm sure Skylar had something to do with that.

Our last cat, Persephone's, favorite "enemy" was my flip-flops. If I left them anywhere she could find them, I'd end up with a shredded mess. I cannot even begin to count the number of pairs i went through in the 9 years she lived. . .

There's plenty of squeaky tools around that Tangie plays with... So far, Chatter isn't playing with anything. Now, Cherry...... she'll chew papers, and of all things, cords! A week or so ago, or home phones wouldn't work. I went to look and found Cherry had chewed the power cord. Thankfully, it was only 5volts, not a 110 cord. But, I have found a couple other cords which have been gnawed. I can only imagine which of the girls had done this dastardly deed!

When Spirit was a baby she ate the charging cable to my kindle (which was fortunately not plugged in at the time) and also grabbed my contact lens out of the case (I was sitting on my bed putting in my contacts) and ATE it!!!!! I was so mad at her, and then realized it was MY fault for leaving anything out where a puppy could get to it!

Oberon has always liked to go halfway under our bed, and we never thought too much about it. One night he was under there, and all of a sudden my lamp went out, he let out a scream of pain and ran into the living room. Sure enough, he had chewed through the lamp cord and electrocuted himself. Of course we took him immediately to the emergency vet. Fortunately, he only burnt his tongue, but we kept an eye on him for the next 24 hours to make sure there was no other damage (there wasn't). He still goes under the bed, but doesn't chew on cords anymore.

That would terrify me! I'm so glad he was okay. And that you were too.
