This makes NO sense!

Interesting, her belly is NOT really round, is it supposed to be? It looks and feels nice and full and I can't feel her ribs REAL easily but I can still feel them. So maybe I should try taking the freeze fried fruits and veggies out and feeding her more?!?

I just did a fecal recheck last week and of course it came back negative. When my Vet calls me back today we'll discuss all the possibilities!

You usually see really round bellies in puppies that are wormy. Since you have just done a check then I would say you are good on that front.

Since I've used the Ultramix I know what the food looks like. And since her little tummy is so small I was wondering if maybe the veggies are causing an issue. They are freeze dried but I don't know if they are really cooked. Cooked are easier for a dog to digest. They may be expanding in her tummy, especially at night, when she is quiet and not drinking any water. Kind of like little sponges soaking up the available water.

It would be easy to just take out the veggies for a few days and see if it makes any difference. At least there wouldn't be any upset tummy to contend with like when you do a food change. If she doesn't throw up go back to the regular mix on the third day. If she throws up, then I would suspect the veggies. If that's the case you would need to buy her a dog food where the veggies are cooked and extruded together into a single morsel.

Not to say it's nothing, but Miko kinda had the same thing when he was a pup.

For some odd reason, he had "morning sickness". Seriously, he'd either have dry heaves or he'd vomit every morning. I couldn't for the life of me figure it out. No worms, no physical issues, nothing blocking intestines, etc.

My doc eventually gave me something to help with the vomiting. Some sort of pill that basically makes him not vomit (or something like that, honestly, it was over 10 years ago, I forget). That helped a bit. But I didn't want him on it constantly. I used that pill for about 3 months then stopped. He seemed okay after that. He'd have a morning sickness thing maybe once a month (better than everyday). And then he eventually stopped. I think he was about a year old or close to a year old. It was strange!

Honestly. We still had no clue what was causing it. I know Miko used to free feed when he was a pup. And he'd choose to eat at around 5am (when I was sleeping). But even when I put him on a schedule (to see if that would help), he still would dry heave or vomit in the morning.

Lastly. The only time he does it now, in the morning, is when I haven't vacuumed for awhile. My vet (different than before) said it's more of an "allergy" at that point and to be sure to vacuum. If I do, he's fine.

I put that in there, because it's a thought. Maybe it's an airborne allergen that's affecting her in the AM. I also wanted to post to let you know Miko had that issue and he did eventually stop. Just things to think about. Good luck.

Believe it or not, my Vet told me to start to slowly wean her off the Castor and Pollux and onto either Science Diet or Royal Canin!!! I know that will probably get some smack talk, , but I have to try what' I think is best for Megan. We shall see!

Everyone here has been fabulous with all the suggestions. Oh but I did take the veggies and fruit out of the C&P for dinner..

Wow! I think that is amazing, Miko sounds just like Megan to a T. Like you, I have done all the testing and everything and it all comes back normal. My Vet called me back tonight and told me to slowly wean her off the Castor and Pollux Natural Puppy and put her on either Science Diet or Royal Canin!! I can hear the gasps now, Ha ha!! I bought some Royal Canin for puppies this eve and will start the process..

BTW, TY so much for sharing, I really do feel better and kinda think she will either do better on a different food OR grow out of it!
