Threshold work

The only dog training book I have is Control Unleashed by Leslie McDevitt. It addresses getting to the dog before he is over the top and tons of techniques for bringing him to a calm state. Food is great, but may not always be available. And even if it is, you will want to fade it eventually and have some sort of plan in place in case things get frustrating.

The book is very geared toward agility dogs and non-aggressive dogs (but highly aroused dogs) like Bentley. Through the one book, I've been able to address Duncan's timidity, Abigail's lack of confidence and reactivity to things on walks, and am slowly getting through to Pierre's Napoleon syndrome.
