Throwing up

Sigh.

Another throw up this morning.

I'm going to call the vet on Monday and see if I can't talk to the woman who did his surgery.

Sorry to hear this, Ashley. Hopefully it's nothing. How is Bentley otherwise? I don't blame you for checking with the vet. I'd do the same thing.

He's actually acting much better every day. Yesterday we brought him inside (we carry him because of stairs) and put him down and took his leash off. He knew he was getting ready to be put back in the x-pen and he ran away (so sneaky!) and jumped on the ottoman :uhoh: But, it goes to show that he is feeling more and more like his old self.

You may find that he will vomit every once in a while as the ulcer heals. He probably has nausea as well, though he can't tell you.

What did the vet say?

I didn't call. It's such a nuisance to get a vet on the phone...and Bentley has eaten fine and kept everything else down. I've been keeping an eye on him and he has been doing so much better.

He's barking, trying to play (we're not letting him, poor guy), eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom. His temp has been normal.

If I saw a pattern or any other signs of him not feeling well, I would call or even take him in. We have to make an appointment for early next week to remove the staples, so I know he'll get checked out then.

Good to hear about the tail buddy! I was at the drag races this weekend (my sheep claims I failed but I did the jumps whenever I did not need to go say hi :rolleyes2:) and had to whiz standing on a hill. Without tail english I might have tumbled down the hill and had other dogs laughing at me, tail english is important.

How is Bentley doing today?

He's doing well! His sniffling and snorting has completely stopped (hooray!), though he does sometimes gag a bit. I think it's just like the progression of a cold. First it was in his nose and throat, then moved to his chest where he wanted to cough it out, and now he's finally feeling better.

When I take him out he is all about investigating and barking at anything that moves--so back to normal there :rolleyes2:

He also is eating 1/2 dry food and 1/2 wet food, and hasn't had any "reversals of fortune" thus far.

I also worked a few sits and downs with him today for peanut butter and I think he was happy to be "working" with me.

He has an appointment to have his staples removed on Monday.

Thanks for asking, Dani! Everyone's thoughts have really been appreciated. Sheltie people are the best
