Timber Remembered.....

Barb, Thoughts are with you.

My forever pup, Timber, died 1 year ago Thursday at 12 years old. We had no idea that he was sick, except a little cough here and there. One day, he was having big trouble breathing and we rushed him to the vet. He never made the trip. He had a tumour in his chest, and his lungs had filled with fluid.

So, now he is with my daughter, Michelle, who died a year ago March 2008. I take huge comfort in knowing that they are together and not alone. And one day we will all be together again....

Attached are pictures of Timber and Michelle....

I still don't know how you remain so strong and have lost so much. My Prayers have been with you and remain with you. Your Daughter is Glorious and smiling down on you with your Handsome Timber.God Bless and protect you always Barb. Yes Bacca and Indy were sent from above. Indy is a little sense of humor from above.:rolleyes2:

I guess it's something that was instilled in me at a young age. You just roll with the punches. So many people have tragedy early and throughout their life. I am blessed that I did not. But my Dad lost his Dad when he still an infant, and then lost his stepdad when he was still a child as well. My dad became the "man of the family" at 10 years old. His Mom never really recovered.

I guess I learned from that that you can't let life's lessons cripple you. I decided after Michelle's death (suicide, btw) that for me to curl up in a corner, sucking my thumb, would be totally pointless. It would not bring her back. So I decided to live my life. All those that I've loved and lost are safely tucked in a special part of my heart. I bring them out from time to time, give them a huge virtual hug and then tuck them back again, safe and warm.

That's how I go on. :smile2:

Barb my thoughts are with you. I, like everyone else on here am not sure how you have done it. You are right though, it would do no good to curl up and not live your life. I think with a great network of support it helps as well and it sounds like you have good family and friends. Both Michelle and Timber were beautiful. Hug Indy and Bacca tighter over the next few days. I'm sure you need it and they won't mind!

Barb, I admire your strength, your humor and the obvious warmth that comes through in all your posts. Not only were you blessed to have Michelle and Timber in your life, they were equally blessed to have you in theirs. Both of them would be joyous knowing how you have carried on with your life. They are both waiting for you and smiling down on you. God Bless You. Hug your boys (both human and canine) tightly and tell them you love them. It will help.

Michelle Remembered.....

September 13th will have been Michelle's 21st birthday.

I'm feeling a little emotional this week and trying to hold it together. So far, so good. Fortunately, I've got lots of work to keep me distracted, Ryan back at school and of course, the pups!

Hopefully, its enough to get me through.

Hugs! And hug everyone close to you! Noone can ever have too many of those.
