I unfortunately have no advice for you other than what you were already given. I am told by my neighbor that Blue is the most timid sheltie she has ever seen. I think it's just her. He's fine with us, although I will admit that when we first got him he was pretty timid and skittish. He is much better now, still a little skittish around my husband though. Probably because he has been working a lot since we got Blue, and they haven't been able to "socialize" much.
