At this year's Gathering at Sunnybank, Bonnie and I had the honor of meeting special guest Jon Provost, better known as Timmy from Lassie. Many of us older folk grew up watching their adventures every Sunday night. Jon was with us for all three days, graciously posing for pictures, autographing books and talking with everyone. During the Sunday morning memorial service, Jon placed two cards, one for June Lockheart and the other for Rudd Weatherwax.
You don't often get the opportunity to meet your childhood heroes and thank them for helping shape, in this case, your relationship with dogs, especially Collies. In my case, that admiration transferred to Shelties. I feel so lucky!!
