Tipped Ears

My little Pennie is 3-1/2 months old and last week one of her ears began staying straight up rather than tipped as they both had been. Is there a way at her age to tip that ear again? If so, is this something I can do? I talked to her Vet who said he doesn't know how that's done. Thanx.

Lots of info on gluing and taping available...ears pricking at that age is quite normal. And usually they won't go back to a tipped position w/o some coaxing!

This is a subject that comes up fairly often with sheltie pups so there is some really excellent information in previous threads here on SN. The link below will take you to one of the treads on ears that is really excellent and includes links to instructions and videos on how to handle the ears properly. Trini

There are many options for you. In my experience, the gluing worked when she was a young puppy (this is something you might have to keep at until they are about a year old). Now that she is older and more crafty at removing glue, I have found that Japanese tape holds up much better. This is the method I use:

I wish I had seen this when Nick was small! I had to redo his ears after we got him and didn't really know what I was doing. His breeder offered to redo it but our schedules never meshed.
