Tissue glue..

Does she do it in crate or while your watching her? I would always tell Ruutu not to either by grabbing his foot and itching his ear for him or telling him "Uh huh" if it's happening in the crate I would glue ears while she's tired and make sure she leaves them alone for 30 minutes. It also helps if you massage her ears creases

I wait until Enzo is tired, but then we do something really fun for the next 15 minutes to get his mind off of it. Sometimes we play outside, sometimes he chews a bone. Once he forgets about it he tends to leave it alone.

when we glued Jocu, it would usually be in the evening after class. since he had playmates, we were gluing practically every night. my friend got really good at holding the puppy. then we visited a breeder and switched to Japanese tape- I was so impressed that it stayed in for like two weeks even with playing so we converted. Destin got taped shortly after I got him - usually I'd do their ears right before bed so they wouldn't mess them up.

Did you add any type of glue to the tape? or strictly tape? Baker's ears are so tiny (he's just 8 weeks old) I really don't want to mess with glue if I don't have to

Tissue glue is essentially super glue. It will be hard to remove without irritating the ear.

Stick with a good human grade latex hair glue. Gluing skin to hair won't work as well as hair to hair; hair to hair worked better when I was working on Fletcher's ears.

the instructions that I received were to put a dab of the wig glue that we had used when gluing the ears in the middle of the roll of tape to help hold the tape roll together inside the ear. so only the tape touched the ear.
actually for small ears, glue might be better. it's hard to roll tape into a small enough cylinder if the ears are really small.

Sorry but im sitting here reading this thread, among the other threads on ear tipping/gluing here and laughing. It seems like everyone is making a big drawn out huge deal about ear gluing, listen if you want your puppies ears tipped 1. ask the breeder you brought your puppy from, they should (have they been a reputable breeder) be able to show you and tell you how to do ears and the methods they use. And 2. there are essentially two methods to do ears, Japanese tape or glue (tear-mender,or similar). Stick with either method it is tested and proven..Trust us we do enough ears and we want to make sure they are perfect.

I couldnt agree more. Heck I have made video for puppy buyers who live long distance. If it wasnt clear I would do it again. Your breeder should be able to help you out here.

I apologize if people get tired of the questions on ear treatments...

I asked my breeder & she said she does not do "preemptive gluing" and does not like to brace. I found this odd because she has beautiful dogs, has done well in conformation etc.

I have watched literally hours of videos on gluing/taping/combination/Japanese tape/moleskin...read the reviews on all.

My little Baker has the cutest tipped ears now at 8 weeks & 2 days - I want to keep them that way if possible...

Some dogs have natural tipped ears so that may be why your breeder said that. My breeder does not tip ears so at 8 weeks I just start tipping them. Though she is a performance breeder so her view point is different in that sense. But even with just the two girls she kept, one has pricked and one has perfect tipped ears never done.

I was like you--asked tons of questions, watched lots of helpful videos. But honestly, just get in there and give it a shot. Probably the first few times won't be great (the first time we tried to do Enzo's ears I was pretty upset and my husband and I were fighting, haha!) but each time got better. I'm not great at it but I'm figuring it out. So anyways, best advice is to try it.
