Too much snow?

Sounds like some Mushers Secret is in order to help protect those poor paws from salt and ice buildup. I use it on Teddy with good results.
Yeah I have tho't about booties. My male would go ballistic, the female I might be able to get away with it.. but still it is dangerous to walk along the road with so little margin for error since the snow banks are cut so close to the road and if a car started sliding or whatever.. spring is still months away but the crew will just have to be content with chasing each other thru the drifts in the back yard...

That’s quite a bit of snow in your yard Glenn! It’s not surprising that Willow wouldn’t go unless you shovelled a path! Spring is coming…soon I hope! We haven’t had snow in a couple weeks but bitter cold (-32 C with windchill of -43 today) I have to go outside with the dogs otherwise Blueberry will lay down (even with her booties on) if she gets cold and then refuses to get up and Piper feels the need to eat snow CONSTANTLY and I worry about him freezing his tongue!
Hopefully you have a slow melt but I’d suggest you shovel any snow away from your house….too much melting snow could get into your house.

that's the cream??? How do they get it off after the walk do they lick it and is that in anyway harmful.???? Might be better than booties if not toxic or stomach upsetting after the walk??
I think it’s best to wipe off whatever is left afterwards…I’m sure it’s safe but not good for floors or furniture.

It's human grade creamy paste that is safe for them to eat or lick off their paws. But usually after we walk there is not much left in his paws. I use it all year round. It helps keep his pads softer and it does help a little to keep road debris out of his paws in summer. I have read it was originally used to protect sled dogs paws in Alaska .
