Transporting a sick dog when you're alone

I’m not sure exactly of Katy’s size but I have a smaller crate for Piper that I can fit in the front seat (I can turn my front airbags off). I usually keep it in the back but I have used it in the front especially when I’ve been getting a dog/pup used to being in the car. With this crate I can remove the door and because the crate sits across the seat I’m able to put my hand in the crate to reassure or pat the dog. Something like this could work in a pinch especially on such a long drive!

Katy is 25lbs, I'm not sure of her height. She's smaller than the other Shelties I've seen, though! Although she definitely has the biggest personality <3

Historically, she's always traveled while seat belted into the back seat and someone else back there with her. She loves to look outside, especially at stop lights! But of course, in a solo emergency...

I'm looking at this one, in the Medium size:

It's probably bigger than necessary, but it should fit in the back seat and give her room if she needs it. I wish that it had a built-in way to lock in, but I can always just wrap the seat belt around it.
