I have a ten year old sheltie named Ginger. Yesterday morning, she started shaking for no apparent reason. Shaking isn't unknown in her, usually it's because she's afraid of something, like a loud noise (thunder) or a car ride.
It went away, so I assumed she'd had a fright, perhaps the cat was terrorizing her. She was perfectly normal last night.
This morning, it was back. We thought at first maybe the wind was scaring her (there have been very high winds in the area), but when I got home ten minutes ago, I found her still shaking. She also seems reluctant to raise her head. She doesn't seem to respond to food like she normally would, if I sit down she gets in my lap and shakes, something she only does when she's scared. I know tremors/shaking aren't unheard of in a small dog, and I plan on making a vet appointment tonight to see if I can find out exactly what might be causing it.
In the meantime, though, has anyone else experienced this, particularly with a dog in senior years?
