Tully update September

Little Tully's health is declining, she's pretty weak and I thought it was time this morning but then she had a little play with Kismet and wanted to eat, even though she'd been vomiting in the wee hours. I couldn't even rouse her to go for a walk this afternoon, and that's unusual.

About a month ago she had a third Beransa shot (that's the new pain med for animals - think they are calling it something else in the US) and I've had trouble getting her IBD under control ever since, or maybe it's her kidney disease, it's hard to tell.

And just as I typed the last paragraph she woke up, went out to the toilet and is wanting her dinner.

Tully is the comeback Queen so it is always worth giving her a chance when she does little things like playing but it's such a roller coaster of emotions.

Never underestimate us old folk we will surprise you. I am sorry to hear Tully is declining a bit, I hope she will get back to her normal. She is such a beautiful young lady, and is a wonderful inspiration for us. Give her a hug from us

Oh I wish she had more in her, but I feel like it's one step forward, two steps back. I'll increase her steroids, which unfortunately will impact on her joints and kidneys but at least she will be comfortable. The weathers nice and daylight savings starts this weekend so I hope being out in the warmth will make her happy. But I get the feeling it's possibly days or weeks left. I won't discount her though, she's a really tough old girl with a real will to keep going.

Live every day like the last. I wish I had with Gavin....although I didn't have much choice with that as we were at my Mom's, which had it's own benefits for him. But we did have one (or was it 2?) beach visit before he passed.

Tully is a warrior princess, but even they get tired :(

We just got back from a walk. I thought being out in the sun might reset Tully's body clock and lift her mood - works for humans. Now it's spring the mornings tend to warmer for Tully and she only seems to be awake at mealtimes and to toilet (and for a little while after dinner - her old walking time). So I got her out before she nodded off after breakfast. Tully walked some of the way and in the stroller alot - but being 95% blind now she's entirely guided by her nose so the stroller is quite boring for her. I need to find a spot where Tully can just potter and sniff. Kismet is off on her daily morning walk with a friend, which is good because I struggle with the 3 dogs: it is way too hard to walk a reactive dog, a 16yr old wobbly dog and a bored 3 yr old together. I think when day light savings starts there's so many more options for taking Tully out esp as it's warmer. I had always hoped Tully would hold out for Spring so we could have some quality time outdoors and doing things she loves.
