Lastly. I don't know if you recall, but I've been collecting the boys' fur to get spun into yarn later. I need about 10 ounces according to the website (hopefully they're still in business). I have 6.2 oz of Koji's fur. I know I have a lot less of Miko's. Maybe I'll get another ounce when I brush the other side of Koji (not really, fur is extremely light, LOL).

I'm doing the same. I've been hoarding fur for the past two years but had to throw most of it away last summer (SOMEONE left the bag open outside in the rain, it was so dirty I just decided to start over this summer). I have no clue how much I have now, I need to clean it though. Were did you find the website for dog yarn? I have a friend that spins her alpaca's hair and she's going to teach me how so I can do it myself. I've seen husky yarn (not a fan of it) and 50/50 sheltie/alpaca yarn, but never 100% sheltie. Have you seen any? Does it look like it has good body? What are you going to make out of it? I'm thinking of making a sweater, scarf, gloves, and hat all from different dogs.

I can't seem to find it, but I know they wash it and so it's free of oils/dander, etc. Somewhere it says something about not being allergic to it. Not sure how they do it. I'd really hate for me to wear it and it affect someone (as in allergic reaction).

I'm trying to get enough fur (of each dog) to knit a scarf. Thankfully, I finally learned how to knit.

when I first got Callie before the forums came about, I googled books about shelties- one of the hits I got was a book called "Knitting With Dog Hair: Better A Sweater From A Dog You Know and Love Than From A Sheep You'll Never Meet" which I bought just because of the title. it lists shelties as a breed that you can spin yarn from the hair.
