Undersized 7 mo sheltie rescue/adoption

Welcome to Sheltie Nation. Sadie is beyond precious -- and that picture -- oh my! Ears attuned to words of love! :biggrin2:

she is a cutie! yep, as people said some shelties are just naturally born tiny and some breeders try to breed tiny/ not healthy trend/
enjoy your darling and welcome to sheltie forum!

Thanks for all the great feedback everyone! My mind is at ease now. And yes her size can be very convenient! Just this week we were in a national park that didn't allow dogs on trails, so I put her in a side tote bag and she loved riding that way with her little head sticking out :smile2:

Yep, the puppy purse is quite convenient. Zoey visited inside the Assisted Living Facility on foot, but was able to join us in the dining room because of the soft crate purse.

Enjoy your pocket-sized sheltie; I certainly love mine

Sundae is 4+ months now and only 4 lbs. I haven't measured her height yet. She's also really petite and her coat isn't too inspiring - sometimes when I see pictures of some of the super fluffy sheltie puppies posted on this site, I wonder what I'm doing wrong... But I know she's healthy, eating the appropriate amount of healthy food, getting good exercise and I just have to be patient... :)

If you are spoiling her and taking good care of her you are doing nothing wrong. Shelties just come in a bunch of sizes. Sca the Border Sheltie was 'supposed' to be a 14" 20lb lap dog..... the box must have said contains two and I missed it  Enjoy you pup and ignore the rest
