Update on Meadow post surgery

For those who are interested: Meadow's pathology report - NORMAL liver biopsy YAY! Mucocele, lots of (trapped)bile, some lymphocytes but NO bacteria. This was pretty much what Elijah's was as well. There just doesn't seem to be an infectious component to this issue although that's what the IM vet told me was a possibility. There is inflammation however.

Meadow's sutures came out today and the her neck pillow is off. She's happy about that. i can start gradually increasing her exercise level. We just did a round of Nosework in the garage which she enjoyed. Life can slowly get back to normal. Although I am still so very sad about Faith.
That’s great news Sharon! I bet Meadow is. Happy without the extra appendage (neck pillow) lol.
Grief is a funny thing…there’s no set time to ‘get over’ it (my mom’s words…she thinks grief is like poison ivy…once it’s gone your over it)…it’s been 5 months since my sister passed and I still cry almost everyday, especially with Christmas coming. With Riley I could hear him in the house afterwards…sometimes the whisper of the dog collar or the noise of a dog in the hallway or bedroom. That probably lasted a couple weeks…Finnie was my rock, he’d get in my face to see how I was doing to cheer me up.
Still does that…last night he was putting his head on my chest as I petted him…his version of a hug.
Dogs are amazing at their empathetic abilities! I hope both Eli and Meadow can help you find peace in small steps….:hugs:hugs

Yep I wanted a wild child when I got Angus. He settled into mellow love sponge. Of course right after I got him I lost my parents then wuhan hit, so he was kind of perfect and what I needed. You could depend on a lap dog multiple times a day and he could mysteriously appear under your hand being petted before you knew he was there. Give your other pups extra hugs Sharon I be one was sent just for this.

Glad Meadow is up and about-- I love the inflatable collars - we have used them on our dogs and cat and tho neither liked them much they are better than the big plastic ones if they work. We have heard that quiet too many times in our house- sometimes it is deafening. Glad you have so great four legger diversion, it does help. I had my 34# guy in my lap this morning--he was a lap full but it was nice- still getting all the shed fur off.. Can't imagine a house without em.. Best wishes to you and to Meadow.
