In an effort to reduce the number of spammers coming to our site, we have implemented a few changes to permissions at the new user level.
New members will not be able to post links, use signatures, use the PM system or email members until they have become a ‘fully registered’ member. This status requires a certain number of moderated posts. (That number will fluctuate from time to time to keep spammers guessing.)
This will not stop all spammers from registering or posting, but it makes the spam useless. This will not affect the majority of users here, but if you have not posted enough, these features will not be available to you until you reach the post count threshold.
