Vaccination Waivers/Exemptions

This will be my last post about this issue. I have researched this issue of vaccines in both human and animals and feel confident with my decision to never vaccinate either. No one will change my mind as my decision is all based on science and studies of the flaws of vaccines. Should they clean up the toxic ingredients and remove board members who have a vested interests, I will reconsider but until then I stand by my decision and feel very confident in it. I don't agree with abusing medical vaccines and will only fight to obtain them for my sick dogs. End of discussion because again I'm not here to be told what to do. Get mad, think i am insane, whatever but in the end theyre my dogs and my future children and i make the decision and i am worried about protecting them over anything or anyone. Save your energy for someone who is asking for opinions because I am not.

I think this picture of my front yard this afternoon explains why I follow a strict vaccination protocol with my Shelties:

Quite frankly, I don't think anyone is asking for the opinion of someone who obviously has a very biased opinion on vaccinations.

It's my understanding from the original question, the person was just trying to understand what those of us do who vaccinate with basic vaccinations.

This persons last post was coming from her personal experiences and IMHO, you were very rude in your response! I'm sure this thread will have to be shut down because of this....and it's not right!

I don't feed raw therefore I have no need to visit the raw feeding threads. Since you don't vaccinate or are fighting with titers and state laws to not vaccinate, why come on these vaccination threads!???

Okay, okay, off my soap box :hide

If I had a dog that needed a vaccination waiver/exemption, then I would certainly discuss this with my vet and obey the laws of the Province of Ontario. Unless that is the case, all my dogs get their vaccines and other treatment. One reason: I don't want the responsibility of making someone or another animal sick because I refused. Two: I had family members go through rabies vaccines because their grandparents refused to vaccinate against rabies. That was not fair to a little child. I have a cousin blind in one eye because someone let her children run the apartment building hallways while they had rubella and my aunt was exposed. Human or animal, I believe in vaccines, unless medically there is a need for exemption.

IMO, if you don't agree with the thread, don't post. Let us keep it on topic to the original posting.

One last thought. Smallpox...gone from the Earth...because of vaccinations. Flawed or not, that vaccine saved millions of lives. Polio...nearly gone, yet there was a case in a local ER a couple of weeks ago. Why? The parents are against vaccinations so did not vaccinate any of their children. Now their child has permanent neurological damage. The child had no choice and is now a victim of his parents' misconceptions. The same happens with our pets. There must be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

A person who is willing to jump on the holistic medicine bandwagon and yet is adamantly opposed to vaccine use, stating research support for both choices, is only reading the research that supports what he or she wants to believe, and/or does not understand the research that has been published.

Vaccines are rarely given to sick animals or people. By the time an animal is sick, vaccines usually offer no benefit - it would be pointless to "fight to obtain them".

FWIW, I protect my family (two- and four-legged) by taking full advantage of science, including vaccines. It's a choice, no one will force it on you, but I would hope you take the time to thoroughly and thoughtfully consider vaccine use without the biases you currently have.

Susan, you're thinking about another post... this thread was discussing exemptions and them being abused... then it got turned into should we/should we not vaccinate... If anything applies to me, it's vaccine exemptions.... please, read before you post because when you post things that make no sense it's hard to follow. I haven't bashed anyone for their choices, and expect the same treatment. Not that I really care what others think about me vaccinating my animals as that's my prerogative...and if you'd read, you'd see my dogs are all vaccinated and have the titer to prove immunity to it's a moot point.

What happens to the children and animals who suffer in the same way because of vaccines? For every pro-vaccine story, there's someone out there who forever suffers from a vaccine also. So these stories are so pointless because we could go back and forth all day saying vaccine injured this person(although far more injured FROM than lack of)/lack of vaccine injured this person. It's silly. If you want to vaccinate, do it. If you don't, don't. People feel strongly about things such as vaccinations, health care, diet and we all have our reasons and we've all done research and do what we feel is right inside. I have my reasons, you have yours. It's really pointless to argue about who should do what when we all know no one is going to change anyone's mind because we both feel strongly about our decisions. You will never convince me the person who created this earth, didn't put things on here to keep us healthy and safe. I don't believe in any man-made product and unless my dog was almost dead wouldn't even use antibiotics. Do I expect you to follow this line of thinking? No. Do I expect you to feed your animals a raw diet? No. But I do expect if you disagree to disagree and leave it at that. I disagree with feeding a dog kibble, but I'm not out there telling you what to do. I disagree with eating anything packaged and think that's a far greater killer than anything a vaccine can prevent, but I don't care if you think the same. the point in a forum is to all share our opinions and people take in what they want. It's not to jump all over someone's opinions if you don't agree.

This thread is about vaccination waivers.

Any other posts that are off topic or snarky will be deleted.

Well let me just add my two cents worth. I AM HUMAN and immune compromised because of bleeding disorder as well as not having a spleen. I would be very upset if I were to be bitten by someones animal. Especially, if that someone decided that they didn't want to have to follow vaccination laws.

I know if that were the case, I would use every bit of legal recourse due to me. I would probably sue the person, and demand the animal be put down. Sorry, but, there's just no excuse. An animal is animal.

In light of some recent rabies outbreaks in my area, I find this topic very disturbing that its the same people who feel they don't need to follow leash laws because their dogs are,"friendly" are the same ones who feel their animals don't need to follow proper guidelines to make everyone safe.

Its just mind baffling to me. The End
