The diagnostic value of a Titer for Canine Parvovirus and canine distemper virus does give a good picture of the dog's immunilogical status.

Yes and no.

A non-zero titer for canine parvovirus and distemper has been demonstrated to correlate with immunity to challenge assuming immunocompetency of the dog.

However, a negative titer does not give you much useful information at all. A negative titer does not translate into 'non-immune'. I think part of the reason for this has to do with sensitivity of methods and somewhat arbitrary cut-offs for negative, but there are also the group of animals that are non-seroconverters or who simply respond by making a subgroup of antibody that is not measured by the titering methodology commonly used.
