Vinci made it

I'm so proud of Vinci.
He passed the "BH-Prüfung" (Begleithundeprüfung - perhaps: escort dog test :confused2:) It's a test for Heel, Sit, Down and Come but you have to walk a default procedure, that can take 5 to 10 minutes plus the same time waiting in "Down"-position thirty steps away with your back to the dog, while an other team walks the procedure. (don't know - do you have a similar test to get the allowence to compete in Agility?)
Alltogether a hard test for my jumping jack flashed Vinci. My mom even nearly laughed at me, when I told her, I want to do the test.
But we did it! I'm so happy.
So now Vinci is allowed to compete in Agility :smile2: (nevertheless I'll wait with this...)

No, there are no requirements like that here to participate in agility.
I'm curious- is this just a requirement by the training facility you are at, or is it something required by the agility organization in your country in order to participate in agility?
I do know after reading an article in a recent Clean Run that you have to have the japanese equivalent of a CD in order to earn an agility championship in Japan.

Congratulations!

I'm interested about that idea, too. Almost seems like a good idea to make the dogs pass a temperament (CGC?) type test to compete.

Every official agility competition here in Germany has to be organized/offered by an assiocation, that is a member of the vdh (Verband für das deutsche Hundewesen / big boss:wink2: - belongs to the fci) and the vdh rules say, that you can only compete in Agility (or THS, Obedience, VPG), if you (and the dog of course...) passed this test. :dead:

I don't like it very much... at least for Agility it's quite useless :rolleyes2:

PS: Apart from the commands you aren't allowed to talk to your dog - this is the hardest part...

Really? Wow, I had no idea, there's such a rule like that. I'm from neighbouring country and you can compete w/ dog older 18 months and need "working book" where they write down your results. I think that's all you need for competing over here. But anyway, congrats and good luck in upcoming trials! :smile2:

Oh wow! That's awesome. Congrats to you and Vinci.

Honestly, I think it's a good thing. I know for a fact that Koji couldn't pass that. It almost sounds like our "obedience" novice level. I think it helps to keep the dogs under control and safe overall. See, at least you know there are dogs here that would fail.

Again, congrats and yay you can compete in agility now. :)

first: thank you :smile2:

You can believe me: If there had been any obstacle on the "course", we would have failed, too. :rolleyes2:

typische deutsche bueraukratie!!!
That's idiculous, since most of it is useless for Agility but CONGRATS that's awesome
wie recht du hast! (how right you are :wink2:)
danke :smile2:
