Visits from the other side

I 1000000% believe in this. From both a human and animal standpoint. My cat of 22 years died and before his death he would always every night follow me in the bathroom while I got ready for bed, I swear for the first almost year after his passing I would catch glimmers of him out of the corner of my eye..when I stopped seeing him my new cat started doing the same thing..shes done it now for the last 11 years.. Another story recently, my uncle who passed 16 years ago started appearing on my moms computer, that was freaky...especially when youd look over and suddenly his pic would pop up, and his pics were buried deep in a file on her computer where it shouldnt have come up...My mom ended up going to a medium and it was an interesting reading!

Here are my beliefs on why some people deny that these things happen: (Remember, they are just my conclusions, and I'm not saying anything negative about anyone here - it's just an interesting subject to me.)

There *are* people who don't (or can't) experience this, simply because they are not "wired" to do so. It's kind of like being colorblind - some are, some aren't, except in this case, more people are *not wired* rather than *wired*.

Animal people usually fall into the range of the more perceptive or the *wired*. At least in my years of observation. Talk to any very successful obedience competitor - they develop such a close relationship with their dogs that they can feel the dog's presence after it passes.

I used to regularly know when Neechee was crated at home, and needed to go out. When in the ring on the long sit or long down exercises (the place where Neechee NQ'd MANY times due to noises or echoes-especially applause-in the venue) I would visualize him glued to the floor or send comforting thoughts at him. Any time I did this, he was perfectly content. If I forgot, he NQ'd. Many of my fellow competitors used this technique to keep themselved psyched up in the ring and quiet their nerves, but who's to know if it was some kind of telepathy or just the heightened sense of the dogs to something we can't see, hear, or smell?

I don't think it will ever be proven or disproven, so I base my beliefs on my experience. Is the cold nose on your leg or the sound of toenails on vinyl flooring really there? Or are you so accustomed to hearing it that your ears or mind plays tricks on you? When new dog acts as if he sees or hears or smells something from old dog, is it really old dog communicating, or is it something we just can't identify? There are so many explanations, believers and non-believers. It comforts me to think that it's my old friend, heart-of-my-heart, letting me know he's OK, and still loves me.

I completely believe in this. I've always had a "6th sense." It has freaked my daughter out a couple of times when I knew something was going to happen, or was happening when I felt it before we knew for sure.

As far as the spirit of our animals remaining behind, or coming back to us, I believe both animals and people do this. I often see my big boy, Panda (my deceased cat,) out of the corner of my eye coming around the corner out of my bedroom. It always makes me smile.

I also ask my deceased brother to be with my mom in the skilled care facility to make sure she is safe. I believe he is there watching her.

My oldest Sheltie Joy, (my heart dog I guess, how do I include that symbol in my message anyways?) is VERY devoted to me -she was our first dog & just totally glommed onto me when we visited the Shelter. The staff at the Shelter were shocked -they said she just kept to herself before we showed up. Guess it was meant to be.
Anyways, i hope she doesn't hang around after she crosses the rainbow bridge just to watch over me. I really want her to move on & have some happiness in the afterlife -she's had it rough here on earth -I want her to be at peace chasing butterflies in some meadow in doggie heaven.

We had a beloved lhasa-poodle mix who we had to put to sleep a couple yrs ago. On our regular walk route, there is a corner where Maxine would always get a treat. We don't do that with our current dogs.

Our new dog Forrest will NOT walk on that pad of sidewalk. He'll carefully walk onto the grass there. That's the only spot he does that, and he acts a little skittish when he does it.

We say Maxine's growling at him over her treat.

I have not experienced any dogs passing or people that I remember (relatives when I was 3)

I think that ghosts, mediums etc. is complete and total nonsense. However, I do think that sometimes things that animals or people have done, been or said(people) come back to us to comfort us.
