Waiting for the Surgeon

Over the last 4 weeks Teddy has developed a hard lump on the Top of his tail. I have talked with his Surgeon who is out of state for a conference. Told me I can bring him in next Monday when he returns or take him to the clinic to see a regular Vet
He gave me instructions on what to do if it changes any, so I have opted to wait. It's not bothering him and it's not inflamed or red
I'm thinking it's some type of cyst that can easily removed 🤞

I'm sorry to hear about Teddy's lump. But you're right, it's more than likely a cyst. Has your vet aspirated it to check the cells or is that waiting for the surgeon? A fine needle aspiration will tell you what it is. You're certainly fine waiting till Monday if it's not getting bigger. Sending pats and good thoughts that it's nothing! :fl

No Teddy has not seen anybody, I'm going to wait for Dr Brandon to return in a week to do it. I am not going to do multiple Vets unless he changes and needs to be seen sooner
I still remember the disaster when he got bit by the spyder. Multiple Vets, infection, more pain in 1 week and multiple bills too.
I would spend any amount to make sure he got the care he needs but since I have talked with the Dr. I am going to follow his instructions this time. 💉

I'm recalling that there is some kind of gland there at the top of the tail Ron, that can get enlarged. It is not a dangerous thing. I know how particular you are about his care and I think you are very safe waiting for your regular vet. All good thoughts to you and Teddy.

Sorry to hear about Teddy Ron…have you seen your regular vet yet? Hopefully it’s nothing serious.
Piper often gets the sebaceous cysts (they’re fat filled) and they can come back if they don’t get the root. Piper had one removed years ago because of a surgery but otherwise we just leave them be. He has one on his back I occasionally express but the other one is erupting so I leave it alone.
It’s funny Piper has been getting them since he was 2 or 3 and yet Finnie who is his 1/2 nephew (his brother is Finnie’s sire) has never gotten any.
