Gosh, the conformation dogs were heavily manicured and clipped. Interesting to see because that would be frowned upon here. I think the last three were structurally and visually similar to dogs we see here.

Also, how come there are less Shelties than there are Cattle dogs? Aren't Shelties more popular?

I wish I could have seen the agility run, I can't see the highlights video so I hope they post it later. I had a steward at an agility trial on the weekend and there were no Shelties.

Oh the agility was awesome!! 3 Shelties in different height classes. And I loved the Pom and the Papillion! It is so much fun to see the enthusiasm and intensity these dogs bring to this sport. So much fun.
my mom got such a kick out of watching the agility! 92 years old and she watched the whole 2 hours that was televised here! Ironic because I start talking obedience and I can see her lose interest immediately :ROFLMAO:.

You can go to the WKC website and they should have all the videos of the classes up by now for any you missed. Fun to watch!

The agility this afternoon was great. Boss, the 16" Sheltie, won it all with a phenomenal run!
actually Boss only won the 16" class- the 20" BC Verb was the overall winner.
it's contentious among agility people that Westminster picks an overall winner since how that's determined always favors the 20" dogs.
Pink who won the 16" class last year also won the overall but that's unlikely to happen again.........

I didn’t think they were too done up. Only products my breeder uses is chalk, colestral and some hair spray and almost everything is brushed out before they go in the ring. That’s how they looked to me but I guess if they don’t use much product in Australia then these would appear done up.

There were actually more Shelties entered than were there. I haven’t heard why, but none of the top dogs in the country were there. The Canadian border is still closed or we would have had some of them too, although several have managed to appear at shows I’ve been at. I suspect COVID restrictions kept some away and others may not have wanted to go to this venue, outside of the traditional NY Madison Square Garden in February.

The dogs there were no more trimmed and manicured than we do for any AKC show. “Product” is not allowed at UKC shows but I show in AKC and have more makeup and tack for my show dogs than I have shoes. And that’s a lot! :wideyed:

The site is beautiful and a worthy substitute for the Garden- I wouldn't have minded being at this Westminster for any reason- too bad spectators weren't allowed.......
