The dogs there were no more trimmed and manicured than we do for any AKC show. “Product” is not allowed at UKC shows but I show in AKC and have more makeup and tack for my show dogs than I have shoes. And that’s a lot! :wideyed:

I didn’t think they were too done up. Only products my breeder uses is chalk, colestral and some hair spray and almost everything is brushed out before they go in the ring. That’s how they looked to me but I guess if they don’t use much product in Australia then these would appear done up.

To me they looked heavily coiffured, some more than others. Here people use product but it all needs to look really natural.
Kismet's mum won BIS at the SSCV last month so here's a photo of her compared to the WKC winner. You can see why it looks so different to me - I'm used to the flyaway, softer look so it's a bit of a shock to see the smooth, stiff fur (esp that dog at the start of the video)

Wow, that is a difference!

That's a great side-by-side, Caro. It's interesting how we become accustomed to what we see regularly, both in terms of grooming/presentation and of breed type. I think it's helpful to see examples of something different.

And - congratulations to Kismet's mum! What a pretty girl.
