We've Entered Open!

Well, Jinx will be attempting his first leg of Open this coming weekend at Purina Farms! The RMKC is hosting and I'll be running around like crazy because I am a member and I am showing 2 dogs in 3 classes! Whatever was I thinking? LOL

Jinx is entered for his first try at Open. I am a bit concerned about the drop on recall and broad jump. I've only just been putting him through the open routine for about a month lol His retrieve is solid and he knows the rest pretty well. We went to a show n go on Saturday and everything was great though he did tick the broad jump... he gets a little lazy so I guess I'll be hammering that this weekend. On our second run through at the S&G he forgot his finishes! So we'll be practicing those. His drop is really good... so long as he comes on the first command and waits for the command to drop lol

I think we'll be ok though.

Moxie is entered for her last CD leg and a second leg of her RA. I'm sure she'll qualify. No worries so long as I don't mess up! lol

So wish us luck please! If I can get a friend to video our runs, I'll be sure to post them! :biggrin2:
 
Good luck with your Open debut with Jinx. You'll do great. I know all about that not waiting for the command to lay down. I had to stop working on that with Diva until after we finish that last Novice leg as she was dropping on her own.

Also good luck on those last legs in novice and RA for Moxie
 
Good luck! Give us an update on how you do. We were at Purina Farms for the Sheltie National in April and it is just a gorgeous facility! What a great place to have nearby for doggie events. Have a great time! :biggrin2:
