What a long busy day!!!

We picked up all seven shelties from the shelter and got the puppies safely tucked in a box with a blanket over it because it was raining buckets when we were there. After taking one look at the dogs I called the vet and asked if they had some time to see the mama and the puppies. The tech told us to come in about noon.. So we scrambled into our cars and drove over to the vets office. She was pronounced in good health, but had a slight case of bronchitis so we got some meds for her and the puppies had their dew claws removed and examined. They are only two days old so they are too small to do anything else with them. They ARE all pure bred shelties!
The vet tech asked about the others, and I said they were all in crates in the car, he said bring them in and we'll have a look. So all of the dogs got prelim exams, innoculations and rabies. All but one were in good health and just dirty and stinky. The one that had a chronic ear infection got meds for that...

We took them all home and managed to get four of the adults groomed and bathed. By that time it was 6 PM, so Barbara gathered up Mama and her pups and went home with them. I will have the other three bathed and squeaky clean by noon tomorrow. None of them are eating right now because they are too scared but they are sweet sweet little dogs. I'll get pictures tomorrow so I can show you how nice they clean up....

Oh boy Judy, you really are an inspiration. How do you keep going, you must have excellent arm muscles from all that washing and grooming:smile2:

I dont see rescue shelties from puppy farms here but I can just imagine what awful condition they must come to you in. Are they also usually shell shocked with poor manners?
 
I hope you got some rest last night. Please share some pictures with us, when you get a break. Or shall I say....if you get a break :o
 
What a long day. That was so great of your tech to see all of the dogs. What happen to all of the other dogs there? Will look forward to pics, if you ever have time to do them. Judy you are amazing.
