When I got home from work today my husband(who was off) reported that Kileaux our 6 month old SS threw up twice. I asked him what she threw up and he said yellow foamy stuff. He also said that she had no desire to eat it like if she threw up form eating too quickly.

So when I get home I do a quick check. Normal appetite, normal poo, normal thirst & normal activity level plus nice and pink gums that react quickly when I pushed on them. She did though, have unusually stinky breath.

I work at a vet clinic, so getting care for her is top priority and I work tomorrow so I'll take her in with me, but I just want to see what you guys think!

Hungry.

When dogs are fed at a specific time, thier body will start to produce bile and stomach juices to deal with the food. If no food is forthcoming, all that stuff as to go somewhere. And better out than in, right?

My Collie does this sometimes, and makes all kinds of faces while she is doing it.

This makes perfect sense. My husband, although very loving, can get distracted easily and put off feeding them. I'll have to ask him what time he fed them!

Wow!! I didn't know that!! It amazes me how much I learned from this website!:wink2:

When I first got Birch he use to throw up in the morning as I got up later than Rachel. My schedule varies alot so feeding is kind of random based on the day. So now Birch doesn't throw up as he doesn't know when to expect meals and also with training he gets a lot of small meals.

My ol boy has done this (13) what I do is feed him a few slices of cheddar cheese, the yellow frothy stuff he throws up is stomach acid, I think your dog is having a bad day, actually the best thing you can give him/her is a small bowl of steamed rice, my young boy (3) will eat it but the old boy won't. Monitor your dog over 2-3 days and if nothing changes see a vet.

Yes! What ClantyreSheltie said! Happened to me too. Now I vary their meal times (coz I work late some days and I don't want them to be throwing up when I do - it'll just make me feel more guilty for not coming home sooner!!). I don't get the yellow foamy bile puke anymore.
