What do you do to train for agility?

Yes time Is alway a big issue especially if you have children. I have been really lucky my work hours are supposed to be 37&1/2 Hrs a week but I actually because of demand end up doing a bit over 41. Rather then pay me for the overtime I had my boss increase my lunch break to an hour and a half.
this lets me get in a full hour of exercise every day at lunch and still have time to clean up and eat. without this window it would be a lot tougher to fit everything in, turned out to be a win/win for both of us. I like the break to workout, and he likes the fact that he doesn't have to pay me extra or increase my already substantial vacation time because my contract
awards all overtime as time & a half off, I already get 5 weeks vacation a year and have more then I need at this point.

That's an awesome setup! Hmm, that makes me think. I'm starting a new job soon and they want me for certain hours. I might be able to work out a similar situation and they have a gym on the premises. Thanks for the idea!

I don't do anywhere near enough to take care of myself. I try to eat right but exercises/physical activity... well, that's lacking (and that's an understatement).

I did win a 3 month membership to a local fitness club plus 1 session with a personal trainer back in January. I need to get off my bottom and head over there to take advantage of this. Even if I don't renew after 3 months, it may help get me motivated to move again.

Well spring has sprung! Time to get back on track! Now's the perfect time because the gyms are starting to die down from the New Year's Resolutioners ;)

I'm just now getting back to work. I ran into a lot of depression problems over the last six or so months, and I'm someone that when it kicks in, I don't do anything I should for myself, and on top of that, am a stress eater. I originally lost 90lbs, and then gained back 10lbs over the last 6 months from lack of exercise and bad eating habits. I was also exercising regularly.
I've finally managed to start coming out of it, and am taking it one day at a time getting back into eating right. I'm also getting back to running. 2 classes of running 2 dogs each class 3 nights a week will do a lot, and then on nights I'm not doing classes, it's back to work on my xbox 360 kinect games... believe it or not, if you do the work, the games I use for exercise can really give you a good workout. I use The Biggest Loser, Your Shape 2012, Zumba, Dance Central 1 and 2, and Just Dance. The dancing ones are the most fun, and are a great way to get exercise. Those games don't feel like work.
So, hopefully here in the next 4-6 weeks I'll start feeling a little better. Right now, running the dogs isn't particularly easy as I am so out of shape, but think the running and games will make a big difference. Last night, I did 18 runs with three dogs, and have to say, I'm a bit sore today.

Well it sounds like you're working your way back into it. I just tell myself as I'm heading to the gym in the morning, "Just keep driving. You'll be happy you went after you're done." And sure enough every time I leave thrilled and proud that I went. Of course exercise is also great for lifting depression as well :)

I'm not too worried about weight, but I am definitely out of shape. I am winded doing just one quick course with Bailey.

I would love to go running or exercise, so I can run faster and not be out of breath after 30 secs, but I have trouble finding time and I don't have any room in my place for a treadmill.

I do walk about 3 miles a day. Bailey gets walked 1 mile and then I walk a mile to work and back. I definitely have a little more muscle than I used to, but it doesn't help with running.

You can try incorporating mini sprints in your walk! Just little bursts into running and then back to walking. I can say that doing sprints has done wonders for me out in the ring!

Not nearly enough is the honest answer, I am lucky in that I can be one of those handlers who doesn't have to run the line with the dog and can run a very much shortened route (I love my girls for that!) but I would like to be able to run a bit more.

I've bought a cross trainer I just haven't had the time to use it, I leave for work at 7am and get home at 6pm so with walking the girls each day and training them (little sprints count right?) that's all I manage to do.

Just mapped our daily walk route - 6.3miles which takes about and hour and a quarter (thanks to my Walk the Walk for breast cancer London Moonwalk training for the speed walk).

I do like the idea of adding sprint sections to my walk though I'll have to see if Indi takes off without me!

I'm with you on using the games for a workout. We lovingly called Dance Dance Revolution "Geek Aerobics" because it was something that finally got the gamers out of their chairs and moving.

I should figure out how to hook up my PS2 to my flat screen TV and play some DDR again. If I can't figure that out, I can always take it downstairs and hook it up to the old TV the flat screen replaced. Either that or see what comparable dance games are available for the Wii but without the DDR mat.

There are many Just Dance games for the Wii. They're a lot of fun on the 360. Admittedly with the wiimote it can't read what you're doing with your legs, but if you're wanting to use it for a fun workout, you definitely can follow the whole movement it is demonstrating instead of just what you have to do with your hands. It is meant for you to do the complete movement, but the wii has its' limits.
It's why I got the 360 with the Kinect. I wasn't ever an xbox fan prior to that, but I love how well it can read the entire body.

Thanks, I'll have to look.

I've had my Wii since before Kinect was on the market and, honestly, I don't want to buy another console game system; we just don't play it enough to justify the cost.

My fiance' is a big video game addict, so we have all of the video game consoles. It made it easy to just add the kinect. We've actually got the ps move for the ps3 as well, but it's about the same as the wiimote, so I prefer the kinect.

I do nothing. Then I started having knee issues, so now I at least stretch out after I walk a course (walk to loosen up first, stretch after). And that's about it. BUT.....

I was going to sign up for this group, it's called Kaia Fit, but their hours clashed against everything I do (training class, work), unless I do the 5:30am class and I know that's VERY unreal for a night owl like me. However, I think what they do is great. Why? Because it's more than just running or even doing fartleks. They do sports type training (another reason I was looking into CrossFit). Which means, learning how to run sideways, not just forward. Being more agile in the true sense.

I was an athlete all my life. And I've been overweight for almost half of those years. I miss being able to climb a 6 foot wall or even heave myself up one. No way I could do that now.

So, I am starting my journey to getting rid of this weight (I like what I once read about weight LOSS. You usually find what you lose. hehehe) and becoming more agile and active again.

My goal is to lose most of it or all of it by the end of the year. So I can run better, run faster and yes, be more agile like my dog. :) If anything, I've gained weight doing agility (because it cuts into my golf time).

Stretching is very important! Even for a quick training session. Last year I pulled a thigh and groin muscle during class. Nothing major, just sore for a few days, but I'm sure if I stretched, I wouldn't have had any issues.
