What tricks do you do for rear awareness training?

Some dogs do not know they have hind legs. Specially important if one wants to do performance sports. What tricks do you do to teach for rear legs awareness?
I thought I would start this thread so it motivates me to make/upload our tapes on youtube. Need to do it:eek2:
Here are some clips I have found browsing on net/ not ours/ but the ones we do too

Good question. We do a lot of rear end awareness activities, and have since Starr was a pup. He walks backwards, goes up stairs backwards, climbs backwards up walls/chairs/poles (ie. stands on his front feet, walks up the wall backwards), circles backwards in a heel and independently, does backwards bridges/weaves...and that's all I can think of for now. But I'd love a few new tricks! I'll take a look at the videos later - this computer is too slow. :smile2:

Most of the stuff that we do was mentioned here...backing up, backing up stairs, backing up a hill, sitting up, climbing with back legs up a wall/cushion, putting rear legs into a box or on a paw pod.

This is something that is work in progress for us. Che sits upright a bit longer Leo is less, they both hold bottles just not in sit pretty position. I think it is totally adorable behavior and it is very healthy for core strengthening.

LOVE that one. Toffee and I are still working on the sit pretty part... he is weird shape and we are working on more core strength so it is perfect exercise. One of my training mates can do it with her lab/BC mix and they are almost at the holding stage... too cute he holds his holy roller ball!
DO you have any videos of your dogs doing this, CHe? I would love to see it!! I have not much to video tape yet, myself. lol

As for rear end awareness we do the walk backwards and still trying to work through perch work, too

Here is where Leo currently, his "sit pretty" is still unsteady and he is trying to hold with his paws up and there is no duration to either sit or the "hold the baby" part. My big mistake in naming the behaviors so early thus I will have to rename them differently once we get better duration to either.

Taping helps to see mistakes in training even as you can see I am lousy videographer myself:lol:
For rear end work we are walking up and down the stairs now, one stair at a time. It is a bit easier to walk down, walking up is still a mess. It is amazing how difficult for dogs to walk one stair at the time.
