What gorgeous pictures!

There is something about Shelties that says "more." I wanted one...quickly got a second...and then a little less quickly, a third. Three dogs? Too many. I must be crazy. The second one passed away a couple of months ago, and two doesn't seem nearly enough. There will be another soon. I know my beautiful boy can never be replaced, but I think he would approve of a successor. He has left too big a hole in our pack.

May you find another sheltie quickly, another sweet angel to love and enjoy.

In less than three weeks:
Pepper (15 years old) walks slowly with me, no leash on our own property.
Sasha (the Princess) actually wagged her tail a few seconds for me, and then gave me her first kiss on the hand!
Lucky, grown up here from puppyhood, Lucky's proud of them both! (He gets extra attention now, since our dear adoptees have arrived.)
I was ready to spend years for this to happen. But three weeks? I'm just plain astonished!

Greetings to Richard in the Great PNW!
We're right there with you. We've adopted 6 Shelties over the last 15 years or so. Just adopted another earlier this month and will do the 5hr drive (one way) to adopt another on Feb 11th. Some have taken a bit to get warmed up to us, while others only took days. We've had as many as 4 at one time, but 3 is our normal bunch. I've told my wife I can't do it much longer, because each death rips my heart. But, seems I just can't live without a couple girls.

Here's our new adopted Sheltie. In this picture, he looks like a really tough, beware-of-the-dog-or-he-will-kill-you animal, doesn't he?

What a pair!

They are beautiful! The second one has a face like my Piper. I'm relatively new to this breed but love it so that I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want them but unfortunately I guess people buy them not knowing about the breed. Piper is my first but now at almost 2 I'm slowly starting to consider possibly getting another when he's 3. I can't imagine a life without a Sheltie now.
