Whats your general take on recalls?

Just being a journalist: Read the letter carefully and don't propagate factual errors. Thiamine was not entirely missing. The amount was just not entirely consistent from can to can. Let's not start freaking out here.

I wasn't freaking out I was more or less questioning the statement that the cats could die from eating this food because it was missing the nutrient. I assumed that the food would have to not have the nutrient for a long time, in order to create a definiciency that would lead to death.
